Rachel
E. Ban, Archives Coordinator
Archivist/Records Manager Rachel Ban, C.A., works on a variety of archives
and records management projects for History Associates Incorporated. Her
current work includes writing records retention schedules and records manuals,
coordinating a disaster plan and coordinating the CIW legacy project. Ms.
Ban has experience processing archival collections for several institutions.
She earned her bachelor's degree in history from Wheaton College in Illinois
and holds both a master's in history and a master's in library science with
an archival concentration from the University of Maryland at College Park. |
Jennifer
Snyder, Project Archivist
Jennifer Snyder joined the CIW in September 2003 as a project
archivist to work on the Legacy Project. The first year of
her contract was spent at the CIW administration building organizing
and rehousing approximately 700 linear feet of records. She
has now joined Ann Mulfort at the Broad Branch campus for the
second year where they will complete the processing of records
and the visual image collection. Prior to joining the CIW,
Jennifer worked at the Smithsonian Institution’s National
Museum of American History, Archives Center. Jennifer earned
her BA in literature from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire
and her MLS with an archival concentration from the University
of Maryland. She is an avid knitter, reader, and shopper, and
enjoys really bad movies. |

Ann
Mulfort, Project Archivist
Ann Mulfort joined the staff of the Legacy Project in
January 2005 after completing a library and archives internship
at Carnegie in the summer of 2004. During her internship, she processed
collections of both personal papers and institutional program records.
In the fall of 2004, she completed a practicum at the Minnesota
Historical Society, processing the materials of collections there.
She holds a BA in Information Management from the College of St.
Catherine and an MLIS from Dominican University. Her passions include
genealogy work and travel. These passions were united in 2000 when
she traveled to her motherland of Scotland. During that trip, she
was able to walk in the footsteps of her ancestors while undertaking
further genealogical research. |

Kevin
Fries, Intern

Jenny Smith, Intern
Jennifer Smith joined the Carnegie Institution's Geophysical
Lab
internship program in June of 2005 for a ten week summer internship.
Her Carnegie Legacy project includes re-housing over 5,000 Department
of Terrestrial Magnetism photographs and negatives. Jenny is currently
a senior English major at West Virginia University in Morgantown.
She will also graduate with a concentration in Professional Writing
and Rhetoric and minors in History and Communications. After college,
she plans to enter Law School to study corporate law. In her spare
time, Jenny loves to go horseback riding, swim, be outdoors, and
spend time with her family and friends. |
Charles
Hargrove, Project Archivist
Charles
Hargrove joined the Carnegie Institution Legacy
Project in August 2003 and left it in December 2004. Prior
to coming to Carnegie, Charles worked at the Smithsonian Institute
Archives processing the papers of Riccardo Giacconi, winner
of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physics. He received a bachelor’s
degree from Rice University with a double major in history
and anthropology and has both a master’s degree in anthropology
and a master’s in library science from the University
of Texas. He is an avid scuba diver and a steady hand
with a machete from his days of hacking through the Belizean
jungle in search of ancient Maya cities. |
